There is something for everone in Clare and what better place to base yourself than Kilrush.  Our town is located at the mouth of the great River Shannon and is a town of great historical significance, being one of the listed Heritage Towns of Ireland.

Kilrush Farmers Market.  At the Farmers’ Market, farmers, growers or producers sell their own produce direct to the public. Farmers’ Markets give local producers the opportunity to sell their goods directly to consumers.

MAY 2014

Fleadh Nua Festival 2014, Ennis. This year, 2014, marks the 40th anniversary of the first Fleadh Nua in Ennis and since 1974 has developed from a 3 day event to a festival spanning 8 days, with more than 120 separate events, where there is a welcome for everyone.

8th Burren Slow Food Festival, Lisdoonvarna. This year’s theme will be SEAWEED, its healing and nutritional value, how to forage and use it.

JUNE 2014

Traditional Horse Fair Kilrush. The strong tradition of Trading and the reputation of Kilrush as being a key Market Town along the Shannon Estuary are still very much alive today with 4 Traditional Horse Fairs taking place in the town each year. Also on in March, October and Nov.

Estuary 120 Cycle. The annual cycle takes participants through the roads of West Clare on a 103km route or you can take the more leisurely 52Km route from Labasheeda westwards to Carrigaholt.

JULY 2014

Féile Brian Ború Festival. The picturesque twin towns of Killaloe & Ballina awaits you during the 20th annual Féile Brian Ború. As it is the birthplace of Brian Ború, Ireland's Greatest High King is commemorated in style!

AUGUST 2014

Kilrush Music & Set Dancing Festival. Music, Set Dancing, Irish Language Classes, Musicial Boat Trip, Open Air Ceili and Music sessions in the town bars.

Rose of Clare Festival 2014, Cooraclare. The Rose of Clare festival is very much family orientated with activities catering for all ages. The highlights include family funday events, tug-o-war, dog show, table quiz, race nite, pub singing competition, ceili, parish golf outing, discos and of course the crowning of the 2014 Rose of Clare.
